Use Lightspeed to connect a high-risk Authorize.Net account to Wix, Weebly, or Squarespace
Getting started in e-commerce doesn’t have to be a big, expensive hassle, even if your business is considered high-risk. If your products and services are prohibited by Stripe, PayPal, or your website builder’s payment gateway, then you will need to swap out your website builder’s native shopping cart with one that allows high-risk payment gateways.
A+ Rated and BBB accredited, Tasker Payment Gateways LLC has been helping high-risk website owners since 2002. Check out our About Us page and our Better Business Bureau profile to learn more.

How to make Lightspeed high-risk Authorize.Net compatible
Lightspeed is a very useful shopping cart program that a large number of site owners enjoy using. However, it’s not high-risk-friendly out of the box. Without the right support to set it up properly in the back end, it can be quite tough. Below, we’ll quickly discuss how you can add Lightspeed on Wix and Squarespace and how to connect Lightspeed to Authorize.Net for both. You should know that the process can be a little intricate.

How to connect a high-risk payment gateway like Authorize.Net to Wix using Lightspeed
Plenty of high-risk site owners enjoy using Wix for their e-commerce stores. However, making Wix compatible with high-risk sales can be challenging (you can learn about integrating Authorize.Net with Lightspeed here). What we haven’t outlined in our previous content on Wix, however, is that you can also easily integrate your Lightspeed store and shopping cart with your new or existing Wix site.
To start using Lightspeed on Wix is a two-fold process. First, you need to add the Lightspeed app to your Wix site. Second, you need to connect your existing Lightspeed account to your site. We’ll outline both in simple steps below.
Step one: Adding the Lightspeed app to Wix
- Access your Wix account and select the relevant site.
- Find the Lightspeed app manually by clicking “edit site.”
- Click “add apps” and search for “Lightspeed” or “Ecwid.”
- Select “online store by Lightspeed” and click “add to site” then “add app.”
- At first, it will show you sample products until you connect them to your store.
- Double-click the blue “double-click me button” (same page as your Wix Editor). If you do not have a Lightspeed account, you can click “Create account” and follow the signup instructions.
- Grant the app permissions by clicking “accept.”
- Save and publish your changes.
Step two: Connecting your Lightspeed account to Wix
- Access your Wix account, select the relevant site, and go to the page where you added the Lightspeed cart app.
- Double-click the blue Double-click me button.
- Click “Connect account” from the pop-up.
- Log in to your Lightspeed account using the pop-up.
- Grant the app permission to access your store data by clicking “accept.”
- Save and publish your changes.
How to connect a high-risk payment gateway like Authorize.Net to Squarespace using Lightspeed
Squarespace has picked up momentum as one of the better e-commerce site builders and platforms over the last few years. We’ve covered it quite extensively, discussing five alternative ways of integrating third-party payment gateways for Squarespace. Today, Squarespace arguably rivals both Wix and Shopify in that it’s a great site builder that allows you to edit and customize your site to a great extent.
Lightspeed integrates seamlessly with Squarespace and adds significant functions to any great-looking Squarespace website. You’ll expand the e-commerce capabilities of your Squarespace site by making use of your Lightspeed online store.
Having said that, setting it up is a little more intricate than adding Lightspeed to Wix. To make sure you get the instructions right, you might want to look at Lightspeed’s step-by-step instructions on installing it on Squarespace here.
How to connect a high-risk payment gateway like Authorize.Net to Weebly using Lightspeed
There are two ways you can integrate Lightspeed seamlessly with Weebly. First, depending on whether you have a paid Weebly account or not, you can integrate using a code (free) or using an app (paid).
Regardless of what option you use, you’ll be able to add a significant number of functions to any great-looking Weebly website. In addition, you’ll be able to expand the capabilities of your Weebly site by making use of your Lightspeed online store.
To add the Lightspeed catalog and store to Weebly, there are some simple steps to follow (our example is through the app route):
1. Log in to your Weebly editor, then open the Lightspeed App (which you can find it here) or go to “Apps” and search “Ecwid” or “Lightspeed.”
2. Proceed to click the “Add button.” A pop-up will appear.
3. In the pop-up, select the website you want the store to be added to, then click “Connect.”
4. In the following pop-up, confirm that you have selected the correct website and click “Connect” again.
5. On the next page, log in to your existing account or create a new account.
6. Open the page where you want to add the Lightspeed store.
7. Drag and drop the Lightspeed icon from the list of installed apps in the left menu of the Weebly editor to the page.
8. Publish to save the changes.
The good news is that it’s no more complicated than that. You can also read more on the Lightspeed Weebly support page.
