Web developer high risk-payment gateway support
Since 2002, we have been fielding calls and building relationships with web designers and software developers from across the country who need help enabling high-risk payment gateways for their clients.
We often speak to web designers or developers that have a customer that would like to move away from their current high-risk solution and move towards a traditional payment gateway and merchant account.
Additionally, we work with a lot of developers who are savvy but run into an issue such as the age-old “prohibited category” or “blacklist” problem. This usually happens when a site is nearly complete, but because the client is selling an item like e-juice, cigars or tactical items the developer’s “go to” credit card processing options will not allow the developer’s client to accept credit cards.
2 types of software or website professionals we often help:
Type 1: a designer new to e-commerce
If you are web developer new to eCommerce and need an “inside guy” to help you navigate the world of PCI compliance, FANF, AVS, chargebacks, API Log-in and Transaction keys, recurring billing, etc., please feel free to contact us. We will happily talk the time to talk about your specific client and help you look like a hero.
We can assist you and your client with a payment gateway like Authorize.Net or NMI, and help you integrate the credit card processing piece with your cart.
We are not developers and do not pretend to be, but we can pass along what we have learned over the years and help you avoid many of the mistakes that we have seen folks make.
We are happy to help regardless of whether or not your client is or even could be our customer. We find building relationships pays huge dividends as the years go on.
Type 2: an experienced developer that has a new client type
Just because you are building your 500th eCommerce site this week doesn’t mean you won’t bump into an issue. We regularly help out developers who are experienced and very good at what they do yet they have run into a hiccup setting up a client’s payment gateway.
One common issue we have run into a lot is when a developer sets up a client that is using a big national processor or aggregator and finds out at the last minute the product their client is selling is”high risk,” “blacklisted” or a “prohibited category.” A few examples are clients who may be in the firearms or shooting sports business, or in the vaping, or electronic cigarette business, another is the “biz op” or make money from home/MLM industry.
These industries are prohibited by many big banks, processors, and payment gateways. We can help your client find the payment data processing solution that works for them.
Contact us early on in your high-risk project
A lot of the web developers we work with involve us early in the process so that we can help them lay out a plan. No one wants to be 50% of the way through an elaborate e-commerce site only to find out that the method of sales your client wants to employ is against the processors or the gateways rules or that you need to switch carts so that the gateway that allows your clients product type can integrate. We are happy to help.
For developers who regularly work with e-commerce, our partners often offer referral programs and affiliate payouts as well.
